(ZOOM) Ruth Asawa: Sculptor, Educator, Arts Activist
The American artist Ruth Asawa (1926-2013) is known for her extensive body of work including painting, printmaking, and especially for her wire sculptures that challenge conventional notions of material and form. A believer in arts education and community outreach, she co-founded the first public arts high school in San Francisco. Come and hear about this pioneering and inspirational artist and prepare to enjoy the MoMA's current monumental Ruth Asawa retrospective in NYC.
