(ZOOM) A History of the Thanksgiving Holiday

The origins of the American Thanksgiving holiday begin with the 1621 meeting between English colonists and members of the Wampanoag peoples. Its history in the U.S. calendar is an interesting story involving both Federal and State government decisions. This lecture will include the development of various Thanksgiving cultural traditions and even a bit about the Canadian version of the holiday.
